A special meeting of the Eckford Township Board was called to order at 8 p.m. by Supervisor Rapp.

In attendance were K. Hinkley, T. Baylis, W. Cornell, W. Thomas, B. Rapp, L. & R. Dunn.

On the Agenda of the meeting were the contract negotiations with Wilder Creek Conservation Club to transfer their property to the Eckford Township Board to use as a community park.

Copies of e-mail’s that have gone between B. Rapp, K. Hinkley and Greg Jolin of WCCC were passed out to each in attendance.

The latest proposal has been that WCCC would keep the main clubhouse and 1 acre of property and turn the rest over to the Township.  The WCCC has stated that they are going to reorganize and file a 501 3c.

T. Baylis stated that she feels we should have all of the property or nothing.

R. Dunn asked if the attorney has mentioned that if they don’t turn the property over to the township that they will be losing their tax-exempt status?  This is something we feel that the WCCC has forgotten.

W. Cornell asked why they don’t seem to trust us and let our board prove to them that we are trust-worthy?  B. Rapp stated that Mr. Jolin has stated that it is not our board he is worried about but future board members.

T. Baylis asked why they couldn’t just schedule the dates that they need with us and use it, as they need to?

R. Dunn suggested that we give a time limit of a closing date and tell them our stipulations and let them decide what they are going to do.

Stipulations will be as follows:

1)      From now on all communications will go through our attorney.

2)      Due to legal liability and zoning restrictions we (the Eckford Township Board) are unable to honor WCCC request for special restrictions.

3)      We (the Eckford Township Board) do agree with the deed restriction that the property will never be sold and it will always remain a public park.

4)      All the WCCC board members will sign any contract we agree on.

5)      We (the Eckford Township Board) would like to settle this matter and to have this benefit for our community but the Eckford Township Board cannot agree with your terms.  The Eckford Township Board will be available until October 15, 2007 to sign a contract with the WCCC.

Bruce would like the attorney to call him before he relays this message and terms to WCCC.

ADJOURNMENT at 7:57 by K. Hinkley

Respectfully submitted by,

Kimberly Hinkley
Eckford Township Clerk
