CALHOUN COUNTY
Supervisor Rapp
called the Eckford Township Board to order at 7:00 p.m.
Others in attendance
were K. Hinkley, T. Baylis, and Mike Barton.
ABSENT: W. Thomas and W.
Cornell.
B. Rapp read the
fire millage as it has been proposed.
T. Baylis shared that we spend about $56,000 a year in fire protection
and it will be going up this next year.
T. Baylis asked M.
Barton what he would suggest that the township board do if the millage doesn’t
pass and we have to let one fire department go?
M. Barton asked us to not cut Homer Fire Dept.
M. Barton asked why
we are asking for the millage now?
B. Rapp replied that their costs have gone up.
T. Baylis shared that Marengo would be asking for fire truck funds this
next year. K. Hinkley stated that
we know Fredonia Fire Dept. will be increasing their charges this next year
since they did us a favor in 2008 and increased their charges only part of what
they wanted to.
T. Baylis shared
that we worded the millage for up to 1 mill so we can adjust how much we
collect each year.
B. Rapp made a
motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:16 p.m.
