Election Information

Presidential Primary Election:  February 28, 2012  Polls open from 7:00am-8:00pm

Polling Place:  Township Hall, 21000 F Drive South, Marshall, MI 49068

Voter Registration

You must register to vote on or before Monday, January 30, 2012 to be eligible to vote in the Primary Election. To check if you are already registered click here or visit http://michigan.gov/sos and follow the links.

If you need to register to vote you may visit your local Secretary of State Office or contact the Clerk, Kimberly Hinkley at eckfordtwpclerk@aol.com or at 517-425-2706 or you can download a voter registration form at www.michigan.gov/sos and send it in to her.

Absentee Ballot Information

Absentee ballots will be available by calling the Clerk, Kimberly Hinkley at 517-425-2706. If you are on the Clerk's permanent Absentee ballot list, you will automatically receive your ballot in the mail. Please see below if you qualify to be on the permanent AV list. The Clerk will also be available on Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. for absentee ballots and on Monday, February 27, 2012 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. as well. Please make freedom count, show your INDEPENDENCE, and vote!

Anyone who meets the following criteria may be added to the Clerks permanent Absentee Voter (AV) list.  Just call the Clerk, Kimberly Hinkley at 517-425-2706.  Or if you will not be able to make it to the polls to vote on an election day you may receive an AV Ballot for the following reasons:

  •     I am 60 years of age or older.
  •     I expect to be absent from the community in which I am registered for the entire time the polls are open on election day.
  •     I am physically unable to attend the polls without the assistance of another.
  •     I cannot attend the polls because of the tenets of my religion.
  •     I have been appointed an election precinct inspector in a precinct other than the precinct where I reside.
  •     I cannot attend the polls because I am confined to jail awaiting arraignment or trial.

The Township Clerk, Kim Hinkley, will be available on the Saturday before each election from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. for anyone who needs an Absentee Ballot.  And on the day before each election from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. for anyone to vote absentee in the office.  Emergency absentee voting is permitted on election day until 4 p.m.
