ECKFORD TOWNSHIP of

CALHOUN COUNTY

August 31, 2009

A special meeting of the Eckford Township board was called by B. Rapp, Supervisor.  Others in attendance were T. Baylis, K. Hinkley, K. Lawrence and W. Cornell.

The meeting was called to order at 7:37 p.m.

T. Baylis stated that the Township came out about $2500 to the good above projections in the Expenditures in our 2008-2009 Fiscal Budget.   T. Baylis stated we should cut the truck funds for 1 year then see what our budget looks like at the end of June 2010 and for our next budget 2010-2011 Fiscal Budget year.  If our budget doesn’t look good then we will probably have to put a proposal on the November 2010 ballot.

B. Rapp stated that he supported what T.  Baylis was saying.   K.  Hinkley stated that cutting the truck funds would save about $18,000 for the next year if the three fire departments agree to this.    W. Cornell stated that we are paying double for the EMS services with the Ambulance Authority.

B. Rapp asked K. Hinkley to type up a letter to the three fire departments asking them to not charge us truck funds for 1 year.  W. Cornell   also stated that we need to change the percentage charges with the Homer Fire Dept. and stand firm on that.

Our letter to Homer Fire board will include that we will keep all 3 fire departments at this time.   In order to do this we ask that they forgo the truck funds for the 2010 budget year and change our percentages to actual percentages of what we use for the 5 year average.  Eckford asks the Homer Fire board to vote on this decision.  Eckford is doing this for the benefit of the Eckford Township residents.  This will allow Eckford Township to see where we are at the end of our 2009-2010 Fiscal budget year.

Adjournment at 8:26 by B. Rapp and seconded by K. Hinkley

Respectfully submitted by,

Kimberly Hinkley

Eckford Township Clerk
